Create Strong Impressions
In today’s media rich environment, jurors expect to be shown, as well as told, what the evidence is. Visual aids will hold their attention and also curb them from creating inaccurate mental images of facts verbally testified to. In essence, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Emerald Litigation Consulting, LLC is dedicated to fine tuning your themes into simple and direct visuals that accurately communicate to the jury. Our approach to creating strong visuals is collaborative and organic. We take into account all the themes of the case, implicit biases the jury may have of the subject matter, the speaking style of the attorney, even the equipment used to display the graphics before we begin designing the presentation. We also know how quickly things can change as you ramp up for trial. Late motions may be ruled upon that can drastically change your themes of the case. Because of this we build all of our elements to be easily edited at the last minute. This gives you the advantage of fluidity in giving the best presentation. You’ll have the freedom to direct the graphics around your argument rather than having to conform to a static, uneditable image.
So much emphasis is put on opening statements. What you say, your presentation style, even your body language will create an impression which will frame how the jury sees you for the rest of the trial. When we create an opening presentation we look at the big picture. The graphic piece is only one part of a much larger act unfolding in front of the jury. Through our design process we’ll give suggestions on the best language to use, what themes resonate with us the most, where things seem to get “stuck in the weeds”, and give constructive feedback during rehearsal sessions. It’s our goal to ensure you are comfortable with the presentation and the equipment being used to display it.
